Skin Moles FAQ:

Hi

I was just looking in the mirror after a shower, and noticed I have a lot of moles. I counted, and got about 57. The most of the are on the area that my shirt covers. A few of them are raised, and they all look normal. Thanks in advance.
I have fairly white skin, and i have never really had a sunburn

Well kiddo, age isn’t a limiting factor on how many moles you will have. Sometimes it can be a genetic thing (i.e. if someone in your family is prone moles than you may be also) or it can be a sun exposure effect.

Moles are caused by an increase in the skin color ‘chemical’ called melanin, also cause freckles. Melanin will increase after prolonged exposure to the sun of if it is in your family’s gene pool.

I wouldn’t be too concerned unless they change drastically in color or size, in which case you should see a doctor. But if you are really worried about it, you should make an appointment anyway just to make sure none of them are abnormal.

Good luck!

I have heard that counting moles on you or others make more moles. IDK if it is true but don’t count them to be on the safe side!

Moles are mostly genetic as well as freckels, I would not be to concerned with how many moles you have, but I would watch out for discoloration of or around the moles usually red or black color, and use sunscrean with an spf of at least 35. The sun could cause cancer to the moles.
